Features

3.5-Liter V6 Direct-Injection Engine

High tech meets high performance. Tacoma’s available Atkinson-cycle 3.5-liter V6 with direct injection is the perfect blend of efficiency and power, giving you more of everything you want.9

Available 6-Speed Manual Transmission

If rowing through the gears is more your style, Tacoma offers a 6-speed manual transmission, on certain models, to put control firmly in your hands.9

6800-LB. Towing Capacity

Whatever toys you’ve got, Tacoma’s got the power to bring ’em along. The powerful 3.5-liter V6 and available Tow Package help it tow up to 6800 lbs.10 or carry a payload of up to 1685 lbs.11

Trailer-Sway Control

Included with Tacoma’s available Tow Package,10 Trailer-Sway Control (TSC)12 applies brake pressure at individual wheels and manages engine torque to help maintain control of the trailer.

Crawl Control

When the trail gets challenging, Tacoma TRD Off-Road’s Crawl Control (CRAWL)13 is here to help you conquer your off-road adventure.9 This advanced system automatically modulates the throttle and brakes on five low-speed settings so you can keep your focus on navigating across difficult terrain.

Electronically Locking Rear Differential

Tacoma's available electronically controlled locking rear differential distributes engine power evenly to both rear wheels so they move at the same speed, providing more grip in low-traction conditions.

Multi-Terrain Select

Tacoma TRD Off-Road features Multi-Terrain Select (MTS). With five modes to choose from, this system helps regulate wheelspin by automatically adjusting the engine throttle and traction control.

Hill Stat Assist Control

Tacoma’s Hill Start Assist Control (HAC)14 is designed to help you safely get up those hills. This technology helps minimize Tacoma from rolling backward when you move your foot from the brake to the gas pedal, so you can move upward with confidence. (HAC not available on TRD Off-Road 4WD M/T.)9

Composite Bed

Don’t call it a bedliner. No matter which bed length you choose, your Tacoma’s bed is composed of an ultra-durable, fiber-reinforced Sheet-Molded Composite (SMC) surface. This rugged tech boasts a greater impact strength than steel and will help keep the bed of your Tacoma looking good for years to come.11

Deck Rail System

When the desert calls, you want to bring your gear along for the ride. That’s why Tacoma’s bed comes standard with an innovative deck rail system. With four heavy-duty adjustable tie-down cleats, you’ve got the strength and adjustability you need to keep your cargo securely strapped down.11

120V Outlet

An available bed-mounted 120V/400W outlet7 helps keep the action powered up even when you’re way, way out there.

Remote Connect

Toyota’s Remote Connect15 allows you to access select vehicle capabilities from your smart device.16 Locking and unlocking doors, starting and stopping the engine,17 and finding and monitoring vehicle status are all possible through the Toyota app.18 One-year trial included.19

Panoramic View Monitor

Get into and out of that campsite with ease. Tacoma’s available Panoramic View Monitor (PVM)8 uses cameras on the front, sides and rear of the truck to give you a 360-degree view of what’s going on outside.

Multi-Terrain Monitor

When the trail gets demanding, Tacoma’s available Multi-Terrain Monitor (MTM)23 lets you check your immediate surroundings for potential obstacles. Simply press a button to display front-, rear- and side-camera views on the 8-in. navigation screen.

Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert

When Tacoma’s available Blind Spot Monitor (BSM)24 detects a vehicle, it illuminates a warning indicator on the appropriate outside mirror to alert you to the presence of the vehicle, helping you to determine when it's safe to change lanes. And when you slowly back out of a driveway or parking spot, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA)25 provides an audible indicator to warn you of approaching vehicles.

Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection

The Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD)26 is designed to help detect a vehicle or a pedestrian in certain situations. Using both a camera and radar, PCS w/PD can provide an audio/visual forward collision warning if there is a possible collision under certain circumstances. If you don’t react, the system is designed to provide automatic emergency braking.

Dynamic Radar Cruise Control

Intended for highway use, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC)27 lets you drive at a preset speed. DRCC is an adaptive cruise control system designed to be set at speeds above 25 mph and uses vehicle-to-vehicle distance control, helping maintain a preset distance from the vehicle ahead of you.

Lane Departure Alert

By detecting visible white/yellow lane markings at speeds above 32 mph, Lane Departure Alert (LDA)28 is designed to issue an audio/visual lane departure warning if an inadvertent lane departure is detected.

Automatic High Beams

The Automatic High Beams (AHB)29 safety system is designed to help you see more clearly at night at speeds above 25 mph. The AHB system can detect the headlights of oncoming vehicles and taillights of preceding vehicles, then automatically toggles between high and low beams accordingly.
